The Weceem team is pleased to announce the release of version 0.8 of the Weceem CMS written entirely with the Grails framework.

Weceem is a CMS that can operate as a standalone application or as a plugin in your own Grails applications. It has an intuitive content model that leverages Grails ORM for persistence.

What's new in version 0.8

This release centres on security features and performance improvements, including:

  • An advanced security policy mechanism for controlling access to to the administration and content access (including viewing) by space and URI. Applications that provide their own authentication mechanism can easily plug into this without using separate access control.
  • A new content URI to node id cache, for much higher rendering performance of pages that reference many nodes by URI path
  • Fully enabled hibernate level 2 cache for content nodes, transparently improving performance significantly
  • A new wcm:cache tag for caching sections of templates or widgets

Not to mention a raft of bug fixes and improvements as well as increased test coverage. Release notes are available at the Weceem-hosted weceem.org site here.

Since the last release several new websites have been deployed using Weceem. Let us know if you are using Weceem or have any feedback for us!
