Version 0.1 Released
April, 2nd 2009
This is an early release to show the direction we are taking. We set the goal of having the website for the CMS self-hosting and we have now achieved this at http://www.weceem.org/.
The main developers are July Antonicheva and Marc Palmer with additional support from Sergei Shushkevich, Glen Smith and Stephan Albers. Financial support was provided by jCatalog Software AG, Dortmund, Germany.
Among the features are:
* A hierarchical content repository with support for different content types like Wikis and Blogs
* Support for virtual nodes that allow content to appear in multiple places in the hierarchy
* Everything is content. Templates for pages, "blocks" within pages, stylesheets etc.
* Multiple "spaces"
* Support for varied content types, including server file-system directories and files mapped into the URI space
* Simple versioning for showing changes to content
We're really excited about future releases of the project. We already have plans for the next couple of releases, and a high level roadmap:

The current version is not really intended for production systems, and the UI needs a lot of work which will happen in release 0.2 which we will begin work on immediately. Once 0.2 is released we should have stabilized the APIs and added enough functionality to make it ready for prime-time.
In time we plan to modularize the CMS into a plugin so that you can embed the CMS into existing Grails applications.
Support forums and a ticket system (JIRA) will be available soon. The source repository will be available post release 0.2, but the source is downloadable now from the website as a ZIP-file.
Best Regards,
Stephan Albers
